Cara Adams, Founder and President of The Signatures Group, Inc. and its subsidiaries. How it all started . . . In 1996, with the Internet just getting started, Cara Adams left The Post and Courier Display Advertising Department in Charleston SC to set out on a new venture . . . exploring how and what this new internet opportunity could do to promote and expand small business; with the idea of starting a local online directory to shop businesses, get local assistance for leisure travel and groups needing our knowledge and expertise. That is where we started in Charleston, with Charleston's Finest City Guide, Charleston Reservations, and Charleston Dining.
With over 20 years experience as Director of Marketing & Sales with many different brand hotels in Hawaii, Alaska, Florida, California, and North Carolina, Cara saw the need for more knowledgeable and quality local services when it came to planning not only leisure travel but small to large conference and convention groups. Today, local customer service is more in need than ever before.
Initially one online city directory for Charleston was developed to delivery more traffic to small business websites, and provide different online services, such as reservations, group meeting services, real estate and relocation services. It has grown to extended stay, group meeting and conference site selection services, online real-time booking reservations, real estate and relocation services for several cities.
Today, we offer 8 city directories for destination travel planning; Charleston, Myrtle Beach, Hilton Head, Columbia, Greenville in South Carolina, Savannah, Georgia, Asheville, North Carolina and New Orleans Louisiana. Other destination cities that will be included as well are San Francisco, California, New York City, Las Vegas, Nevada and Orlando, Florida.

Lee Kieseling, a freelance writer, is a 5-year resident of Summerville. SC. She holds a BA in Human Development and has earned her M.Ed. from Lesley University in Cambridge, MA.
